James Biggs joins Lorica aiming to break the myth that Pensions are boring

JamesBiggs1Employee Benefits and Pensions expert James Biggs has joined Lorica's Pensions Division.

Formerly with Jelf Employee Benefits where he headed up the DC pensions team in Reading providing corporate retirement savings solutions across the Thames Valley and into London, James describes his primary goal at Lorica as "to take pensions education to the world and break the myth that they are boring."

"I hope to be able to work alongside and compliment the great account managers across healthcare, flex and risk," said James, "and win a huge share of the corporate pension market that is excitingly up for grabs in the run up to 2012."

As well as his experience at Jelf, his track record includes Head of Group SIPP at Hargreaves Lansdown, Corporate Consultant at AXA Corporate Solutions, and Sales Trainer at Equitable Life.

James has no doubts about how pensions should be regarded: "Pensions are exciting and never boring...but above all incredibly important. Final salary schemes are almost extinct and the state may never quite be able to cope when we retire in the next 20-30 years."

He adds: "It is up to us all to save enough now and every year until we retire or face the prospects of living on a park bench when we stop work (if we ever can). The best way to do this is to take advantage of and engage with your employer sponsored scheme."

His aim, he says, is to help the world begin to realise this before it is too late.

Rhys Francis, Director of Lorica Consulting IFA Division, says: "James is a highly regarded and extremely competent specialist in the corporate pensions market and we are delighted that he is joining us to strengthen our team. His sound judgement and pragmatic approach will help our clients enormously."
