Employee Benefit rivals put differences aside to raise £30k for childhood cancer charity
Third year of Lorica Golf Charity Day attracts cricket stars, intermediaries and insurers
Cricket stars, intermediaries and insurers will join together to play 18 holes of golf in September and raise funds for a childhood cancer charity. For the third year running, UK employee benefit experts stop normal play and negotiate hazards of the prestigious Princes Golf Club in Sandwich, Kent. They are uniting to support children diagnosed with Neuroblastoma, a rare and aggressive cancer. Retired cricketer, Phil DeFreitas and cricketer, Paul Prichard are among those playing alongside Axa, Bupa, Groupama, Canada Life, PPC, AVIVA, National Friendly and Simply Health.
Nick Bushell, Sales Director of Lorica and organiser of the event, says, "Last year we had a fantastic turnout again. Twenty-five teams each with four people took part. Well-known people joined lesser known ones and we all came together for a great day of healthy competition, topped off with a dinner and the charity auction of sports experiences and rare autographed memorabilia. Camaraderie, mickey taking and networking are key parts of the day. People were amazingly generous. This year we hope to raise another £30k with 30 golfing teams"
Neuroblastoma is a rare and aggressive childhood cancer. About a hundred children in the UK are diagnosed each year. The Society works exclusively for these children in raising funds for British research into the disease, and offering information and support for anyone affected by neuroblastoma. http://www.nsoc.co.uk

Other activities include ‘Beat the Pro', Pimms Tents, and competitions for the longest drive, nearest the Pin and a prize of a car for a hole in one.
